I understand from your post that Monday will consist of further assessments and tests.
I'm sure they wouldn't go further than that without advising you.
It is quite natural to be afraid of the unknown 'but screw your courage to the sticking place and you'll not fail' (as a certain lady in a certain Scottish play once said)

 >:(  Sheeeesh.
After a test or 2 today they decided that I need an op.  :o but can oly take 'local anasthetic' and follow the op. in real time (about an hour)
3 options given to me
1 Go on a 'trials' list and have either the old carving knife treatment or
2  the up to date  laser treatment
I can say which of the two I prefer but being a trial thingie may end up with the other one  ???

3 I can definatly say 'I want the knife or laser' and they will proceed with my choice.

Sooooooooo bassicaly 2 choices..........trial or straight NHS
I must decide then go back in two weeks time and tell them my decision  ::)
Straight NHS waiting time 4--6 months :o
Trial waiting time..3---4 weeks.
Cant really see that theres any choice ::)

My Canon LBP 5050 laser printer now shows I will soon be ready for a replacement black toner, but it won't be getting one,the printer will be taken to the tip.
It came with a set of toner cartridges which needed replacing after less than 250 pages, cost around £200 for the four.
The total pages from both sets of toner is 182 B&W and 1374 Colour, nowhere near the claimed capacity,I can only assume that all the extremely frustrating recalibrating and out of register colour correction it does has used a good amount of toner.

Anyway I should receive a new Samsung laser printer on Wednesday so I'll see how that fares, cost less than two toner refills for the Canon,so hopefully there'll be a lot less swearing caused by the waiting for the Canon printer to stop recalibrating after only one print.

Which Samsung laser have you ordered? I have a mono Samsung laser which is great for business type stuff although I am a slightly disappointed with the toner life (even on economy).

I've been considering a colour laser for some time - the size and weight have put me off.

Hi Pendy,

I've bought a Samsung CLP 325,just the normal USB one,not the wireless version, got it from Argos online.

I've had Canon ink jet printers and really like them, but this Canon laser printer has really got on my nerves,I'd print the first sheet and if I didn't send the next image for printing straight away I had to sit waiting for three minutes while it went through it's self checking routines, why it recalibrates after its printed and not before is a mystery to me.

Doing any printing of card stock through the manual feed slot and it takes ages before it accepts the next sheet and if I feed a sheet in before it's ready it throws a hissy fit and tells me that there is a paper jam even though there's no paper in it,then it goes through its self checking routine again.

All in all a really frustrating printer to use, plus it's not really Mac friendly either,I have to go over to the dark side (Windows 7) to get it to print properly.

Should be in the 'Turned out alright' thread really but is prompted by the previous posts...

My old HP inkjet failed me.  It stopped loading paper.  After I kicked it hard, several times, it stopped even trying to load paper.  Ooh but it felt good.

Just bought myself an Epson Workplace 545 inkjet.  Wireless, borderless, 7ppm colour and 5760 x 1440 dpi.  All for under 90 quid from the Apple shop.

Bloomin' marvellous.

And learned how to sign 'Thank you' in the process.

One thing to watch is many printers lie about when they need new toner.

My Dell has been informing me it wants new toner for about 2 months now despite regular use. When it runs out I'll change it. And it won't be Dell toner either 8)
