While on yet another trip to Tasmania recently I picked up a Graham Farish Class 42 (Goliath, BR green) at the cool little hobby shop I have mentioned on this forum before. It lives up to the 92% rating given to it by 'Britain's Model Trains 2012' in all aspects; a beautifully quiet slow runner.
One aspect does puzzle me, however: when running (plain DC at the moment), only one head and tail light illuminate. Was this true of the prototype, or peculiar to this Farish engine, or have I purchased a faulty model?

It's true of the prototype

I agree, a beautiful model.
I have a blue and amaroon - both very smoooooth runners, right down to walking speed.
Two rails good. Three better.
