Title: NGS Competition 5/18
Post by: port perran on October 09, 2018, 04:55:06 PM
I usually take part in the bi monthly NGS competition in the Business Supplement of the magazine.
I always finish it but have never won anything (no surprises there-I never win anything).

This month though, it is driving me crazy! It's cryptic clues to Merseyrail stations.
I don't want the answer but just wondered if anyone else is struggling with Question 2?
I'm usually good woth cryptic clues (I'm a big fan of the Daily Telegraph cryptic crosswords) but this has me completely stumped!

Emma Vinton was indeed a Spice Girl, but knowing that and studying a Merseyrail map doesn't make it any clearer

I meant Vinton of course.

I'm sure my posts say what I meant to say before I post them but sometimes end up differently on the forum. Whether it's my Kindle or The forum itself I'm not sure.

So mal holmes (oroginal drummer with OMD) lived (as a young lad) in Meols.
Mal Holmes and Emma Chisholm (Bunton) nearly an anagram.
Meols is in both names.
Not sure I'm any wiser!
