can anyone suggest a paint colour to replicate this colour, please.

I'm looking to have a couple of locos undergoing work, and am fed up with grey primer and red primer. :'(

I'm not familiar with what paints are acceptable on model railways, but you'd probably be nearest with an olive in Humbrol paints. i only know that from my Airfix building days. maybe a dash of yellow would liven it up a bit too.

i think B&Q would call it duck egg green these days tho  ;D

good choice of primer tho, it would make a change from the red/grey primers seen commonly these days.

Hope this helps

Have you tried using the Model Paint database:
http://scalemodeldb.com/paint

You can upload the picture, then select the colour you want a match for. It will give you close matches in most of the major paint ranges.

Happy modelling.

What a brilliant site Steven - thanks for the link! I was wondering how I was going to get paint matches to PKP colours!

Try mixing Sherwood green with some white, and keep adding white until you get that colour.

That colour looks a lot like zinc chromate primer, which was used very widely on aircraft parts during WW2 and for some time afterwards - so there are quite a few suitable colours in paint ranges intended for plastic kits. Tamiya XF-71 Cockpit Green (acrylic) is a pretty good match, there are probably others.
