Well Tim @Moonglum not sure about Beth Hart I'm afraid but that John Cameron track is intetesting stuff from Joan Osborn Mick @Newportnobby . She's not an artist I'm familiar with so I'll investigate further on Spotify.

Returning to my teenage years, it is with great regret that I never saw Fleetwood Mac live.
Then Play On was, to me, an influential album and one of the first I ever bought.
Here's Man of the World, not from that album but a superb song :

Fleetwood Mac completely died for me in the mid 70s when they relocated to the US and became a pop group.
I'll get round to fixing it drekkly me 'ansome.

Beth Hart has done some good work with the likes of Jeff Beck and Joe Bonamassa but that rendition of "whole Lotta Love" is a bit OTT to say the least and the band aren't top notch either but I thought I would throw it in.

Martin @port perran I first heard John Cameron on the Wowie Zowie sampler, so here he is with that track from 1969...

NB Danny Thompson on double bass. John has achieved a lot in the musical world, from pop to film soundtracks and musicals. I will now listen to (old) Fleetwood Mac but I thought they made a good pop act!

Cheers,

Tim

Another band from my youth that I never saw were the Moody  Blues but I was pretty heavily into their music and had several of their early albums.
Question, from the fine Question of Balance LP, is one of my favourite tracks.
I do find the Moodies work a bit dated now but still listen to it from time to time :

I never got to see them them either but for some reason they were looked down on by many.
Of course, 'Nights in White Satin' was frequently the last song played at many a party :)
My favourite track is from 'To our Children's Children's Children'

A thumbs up for the Hawkwind track from me.

The Moody Blues is a mixed bag for me, despite once having four of their albums (Nos. 4, 5, 6 and 7) on vinyl. I think their albums lacked a bit of bite. My posh cousin once played me "Higher and Higher" which starts well and then doesn't do much - OK the end livens up a bit.

Thanks for posting Martin and Mick.

Cheers,

When I was a teenager four albums in particular  played a leading roll in formulating my developing musical taste :

Then Play On by Fleetwood Mac
Liege & Liefe by Fairport Convention
The self titled Renaissance (original band) and....
Abraxas by Santana

I first listened to Abraxas with a friend and it literally blew my mind.

Carlos is such an enduring and versatile musician encompassing many musical styles including rap.

Here is a 2016 incarnation of the band with the ever popular Black Magic Woman which was, of course, initially performed by the fledgling Fleetwood Mac

Thank you for posting Martin @port perran . I remember a school chum waxing lyrical over Abraxas and played it to me, I don't think I was blown away at the time but by the time Caravanserai came out I was hooked and had most of Santana's LPs up to Marathon (not great*). This clip features the Santana VI version of the band with some original members. Santana's Supernatural release stirred some renewed interest but for me his earlier work is far more heady.

*I did like the track "Aquamarine" from Marathon, so here it is...

With the late Jaco Pastorious on bass

Much though I enjoy Santana and have 3 or 4 albums I tend to find him very self indulgent much of the time

I couldn't get below five albums

Genesis - Live (single album with Peter Gabriel)
Jethro Tull - Bursting Out
Free - Fire & Water
Pink Floyd - Meddle
Hawkwind - Hawkwind (first album)
