Warships huh.

::)

This one gets a pass. I noticed that the Javelin was clonking going round that corner too after the hill was replaced and it looks like a section of its structure gets a bit too close to the track if it's not placed exactly right.

It probably got round previously because of the weight of the track cleaner it was pulling and the noise of said track cleaner drowned out any bumping noise :)

Two week lockdown for Bealman.  :(

The lockdown only applies to Sydney, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains and Wollongong.

About 7 or 8km SE of Chez Bealman lies the Windang bridge across the access to the sea from Lake Illawarra. This bridge must have mysterious powers, enabling it to stop the delta covid variant, as the City of Shellharbour and everything south is lockdown - free.

Stuffed if I'm gonna drive all the way for a schooner of VB!

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if there are police blockades at the bridge checking your address.

Our local government head honcho has decided that everyone in Canberra is to wear masks at indoor public venues including supermarkets and pubs. Probably not a bad idea considering the brilliance (not) of our leaders in rolling out vaccinations. Drinking beer through a mask is a skill that I will need to master, urgently.

That's actually what happened here a few days before lockdown. You had to wear a mask wherever you were in the club, but you had to be seated to drink, when you could remove the mask.

Anyway that's all academic at the moment, but I don't care.... I know I'm saving money  ;)

This should probably be in the happy thread, but it's related to the current NSW lockdown. The daughter was to be married in July 2020, but that got postponed to July 4th 2021, which is now a no go. Fortunately the NSW premier, when announcing the current NSW lockdown from Saturday 26th June said that weddings could proceed on the 26th and 27th June. Anyway, mad scramble with celebrant, flowers, hair and makeup and venue on Saturday night gave way to a beautiful, intimate ceremony on Sunday afternoon. No reception and only a small masked up, socially distanced crowd, but the wedding couple were happy! Lovely weather on the day.
Apparently many other intending couples in Sydney did the same.
