When I saw ELP at Leicester Keith Emerson had progressed to swords

I didn't get to see ELP live and to be honest they were not quite in my Premier League (Division 1) of bands - so to speak, more like Championship league (Division 2). I think their first and second albums were good and I have the first on CD. "Pictures at an Exhibition" was pretty good but I lost interest with "Trilogy". I did though (in 1977) buy a brand new copy of "Works Volume 1" for 99p from a shop in Paddington, I kept quiet and offered the lady behind the counter £1 and got 1p change and went home to enjoy my bargain!

It might come as no surprise that Just Take a Pebble was also my favourite track.
I thought that first album was pretty good but like @Moonglum I rather lost interest after that.
I too never saw the band live.

I have ELP's first album, 'Trilogy' and 'Pictures' on vinyl and The Atlantic Years compilation on CD and, yes, another vote for 'Just take a Pebble'

Another excellent night at The Proms. This time music by Mancini, Bacharach and friends.
I love to see classical musicians getting their rocks off. Not sure if one of the double bass players was meant to twirl his bass round a la ELO but great to see

What I consider to be the very best of Jethro Tull's eras with the BBC 'Sight and Sound' concert.
The music/musicianship is superb and Ian Anderson's comments between songs are quite amusing

Brought back so many memories, Mick. I had a reel to reel tape of one of their concerts in Paris (I think). They did all their classics and finished with Too old to Rock and Roll, too young to die. I played that tale until it wore out.
