Title: Jools Holland model railway
Post by: martyn on December 13, 2018, 01:46:28 PM
Its 'OO', and definitely Rule 1 but it does look quite good;

Excuse any journalistic mistakes......and some interesting comments (which will change as the time moves on).

It looks amazing!!

The news article about it in a daily paper made me Google Rod Stewarts layout... After seeing them both I've come to the conclusion I need a job in the music industry!  :smiley-laughing:

Quite a few invocations of rule one there, most glaring for me was a rebuilt MN on a bridge over a Dutch port.

Great layout. :thumbsup:

Is that a coal man (no lorry or dray in sight) or a darkly clothed housebreaker leaving the house by the round-a-bout with his swag bag? :hmmm:

Presume that's the source of the model tram and car scenes at the beginning of "Later With...."

Jools' layout does not bear comparison with Pete Waterman's Leamington Spa, which is prototypical and built to museum standards. There are plenty of YouTube videos of it, such as this:

Strangely co-incidental, there is an article in the Telegraph today about eight famous model railway enthusiasts;

Unfortunately, it is behind their Paywall in the Premium section, but you can sign up and get one article free.

Isn't JH's layout due to be featured in RM?

edit: yes, I see it's the front cover.

Interesting to see the old Minic Motorway system in one of the pics!
