Good. But there's something very, very wrong, with a Lego toy Hitler. :(

emjaybee

That's the most hilariously inappropriate thing I think I've ever seen!

:D

Maybe they'll be doing something with SS Death Squad troops next.

:telloff:

What in the world made them think that was a good idea?

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

I particularly like the caption on one of the promotional pictures:

"Cool Block Cannon"

"Defensive Warfare"

"Every child has a military dream"

Yee gods!

I half expected it to be endorsed by Putin!

there is an N gauge layout around (Dorakerque), WW2 with armoured railcars, a Ju52 landed, with  model of Goering, blue uniform and all!

Ted

Am I a bad person because I laughed at this? 😁

I don't think there's any malice in this Lego knock-off.

I have no issue with things that are historically accurate, or attempting to portray the past. So long as there's no bias or agenda.

But then, I'm one of the younger generation who is actually tired of political correctness gone mad. Live and let live.
Just call me Ted, or Edward... or Ed.

Just not Eddie.

That's a contextual placement of the Goering figure on the Dorakerque layout. And probably the layout operators can further explain that context. The thought of some poor kid with dumb parents getting a toy Hitler (with no context) for Christmas! :uneasy:

I nearly spilt my coffee laughing at this.

I think the uncomfortable bit for me is Lego is synonymous with children's play, yes I know there's specialist kits aimed at adults, and as @RailGooner says this doesn't five any context.

Produce the identical thing as a 1/76 scale kit by Airfix/Revell/Hasegawa and put it in a diorama and it becomes a historically accurate scale model, which is unlikely to be bought for children.

I'm not going to lie, I'm half tempted to buy one just to build it.

Hmmm, I wonder what the Lego movie with this in it would look like....?

:hmmm:

I always think with this kind of thing, it's harmless and only people looking to be offended will take issue.

By the way @emjaybee that would be an incredible movie. The darkest comedy of them all, especially if it was Monty Python-esk. :D

Oh I'm sorry, but I laugh every time I think of goosestepping Lego soldiers in front of a Lego Hitler giving the Nazi salute.

I know I shouldn't but there you go.

...

No!

I hope I'm not coming over has critical of any of the above posts, or the existence of this thread, because I don't feel critical of them. I like a laugh and some say that I've a very dark sense of humour. Some of the posts above have given me a laugh. I think we're all mature enough to discuss and joke about a subject without insult or injury.

I'm quite well read on the history of Hitler and 20th C. fascism. I think that all posters and most (if not all) readers of this thread will be well aware of that history too. But I do see increasing numbers of toys from the orient that make me squirm. We used to see lots of badly designed/constructed goods from the orient that posed a physical safety hazard. The hazards of this toy are more subtle. It's the toy that I'm critical of.

People have been laughing at Hitler since Charlie Chaplin.

It's a good job Hitler didn't know about that or we would have been in real trouble!

Railwaygun

this is NOT Lego - it is one of the many copies

I didn't notice the Hitler figure - would many kids actually notice ? or be given a 3846pcs Without Box kit??

the kits of GB tanks come with moustached british tankers - spot the difference?
