Definitely says 'Made in Italy' and name might be 'G-T'.

Yes that stuff has been around for a while I think, I do come across boxes for sale occasionally.  It's a cheap code 80-ish flex track. Cheltenham Model Centre  was offering a few years ago, see this discussion where someone reckoned the rail section didn't match Peco exactly, and also beware of steel track (as opposed to nickel-silver).

@Paddy
Thanks Paddy, but Nick @ntpntpntp wins the cigar. From Dr Al's contribution Jan 21st 2011 in the link above he has identified it as G-T.
Looks like I'll consign it to the bin as I'm sure no one else would be interested in it.

Why, is it chewed up manky old bits?   If it's still ok then even if you wouldn't use it on the scenic part of a layout it could be ok for fiddleyards, dioramas, or for plonking locos in a display case?

Also if it's steel rail, you could try the experiment I was originally going to do that got me back into N Gauge, which is to design a layout that works upside down (with neodymium magnets under all the rolling stock). I was most disappointed to find out that modern track was nickel silver and just got on with doing it properly :)

No. I have 11 lengths of pristine track and have no use for it myself. I don't reckon anyone would want to buy it and the postage cost would no doubt be prohibitive

Flog 'em to a trader at the next exhibition you visit?  Got to be better than wasting them.

Sounds like a project for the Antipodean market?

Ha ha. Strangely enough, Triang had a feature on their locomotives called "Magnadhesion" and adverts of the day showed them lifted up with a piece of that horrible steel Super 4 track stuck to their wheels!!
