Title: Jim Bowen 1937 - 2018
Post by: Newportnobby on March 15, 2018, 10:10:18 AM
Farewell to one of life's great buffoons - Jim Bowen.
Mainly known for 'The Comedians' and 'Bull's Eye' who can forget those words "Super. Smashing. Wonderful. Come and see what you would have won". The contestants had to wear name tags as he regularly got their names wrong.
RIP Jim

Never a fan, I can forgive people for many things but not the awful Bullseye.
He was once described by Bernard Manning as a  "trainee corpse ".

Saturdays used to be upto my Grans for the day, traditional roast at lunch time followed by

Des Lynham Grandstand
Moira Stewart BBC News
Looney Tunes Cartoons
Bullseye

Jim (as I was under 10) seemed to be a great supporter of the hospitals and hospices that the Professional Darts player would win money for.

He must of been a great laugh to be on set with, always seemed to get a great response from his audience.

Another part of my childhood lost

RIP Jim Bowen enjoy Bullys prizeboard in the sky
