The Farish 3MT went back to Cheltenham Model Centre on Saturday.  They agreed it wasn't all it should be but didn't have another in stock so I had to choose something else.  I suppose I could have insisted on a refund but I'd already checked and 3MTs seem to be out of stock everywhere.

For a time I was tempted by a Standard 5MT as I was almost envious of a friend's Standard 5, but I don't really need another big steam locomotive.  If the Ivatt 2-6-0 were available in BR I might have had one and I briefly contemplated the Farish WD.

In the end I settled on the Dapol Pannier in lined black, I have a plain black one and know they are nice little locos.  To keep it company I bought a Dapol auto coach, I know the class of Pannier modelled by Dapol was never auto fitted but they do look good together.

Finally I bought a small rake of Crimson/Cream Stanier coaches (Brake First Corridor, Second Corridor and Brake Second Corridor) as I regret selling the two Stanier coaches that came with my Merseyside Express set and a BFK seemed like a nice way to  complete a three-coach train.

Hi,
Being sorely disappointed by missing TINGS for the second straight year, I couldn't resist the 'retail therapy':
[smg id=7102]
also texhorse's post previously is also partly responsible (in a good sense!) so we can play NS Heritage 'snap' now  ;D
Hopefully that Kato 'delay' will allow the bank balance to recover, the cash spending money will certainly have to go back in the account now I suppose just in case I get lucky - much railroading naughtiness in prospect...
