 :hmmm:

not holding my breath  ;)

many thanks Dannyboy and EC, and of course just after midnight my message arrived from the Forum.

so far a bottle of Grants from SWMBO, awaiting a parcel from Amazon from elder daughter, and younger daughter popping down this afternoon.

:hmmm:

guest311

well, apart from two messages of

"Our agent will respond to your message within 1 hour."

nothing happening.

the last one was 1 1/2 hours ago .....

BUT

in 52 minutes I will have been waiting 24 hours for an actual response from Paypal . :o

will this be a record  :hmmm:

I'm guessing not.

guest311

well, it's now over 24 hours, no response on their messaging, no way through their phone system, in my opinion it says a lot about the company.

guest311

well, nothing has happened apart from idiot messages saying they will resove this within the next hour / 9 minutes / 8 minutes / can you leave us a message if you haven't already done so.

my latest response, and I think it is quite restrained under the circumstances, is

Please go ahead and leave us a message if you haven't already and we will get back to you in a few hours.

22:25you are joking. it is now 34 hours since I first contacted you, and you have still done absolutely nothing to resolve my problem, you have made no attempt to contact me to discuss the situation, and all you have done is send a series of idiotic messages saying you'll respond, but haven't. your customer service is a joke.

I expect a phone call tomorrow from a senior customer service manager, nothing less, who is able to resolve this matter. I have found no-one who can in any way understand your total incompetence.

so do I expect any improvement tomorrow ?

what do you think  :headbutt: :headbutt: :headbutt:

Frustrating. There are issues with paypal from What i have heard. It's annoying  I would have a drink and rest.

dannyboy

Extremely frustrating Alan. Is there an Ombudsman or some other body that PayPal answer to? Would not hurt to drop it into the conversation - assuming of course that you do get a conversation with someone from PayPal.
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

I did phone a supplier that I was wanting to order from, re another subject, and during the conversation mentioned the Paypal problem and he said he was unable to process paypal payments for orders.
sounds like they might even have some serious IT issues, but you'd think that in that case there would be something on their website to advise customers.

when I checked this morning the only addition to my message was

Our agent will respond to your message in 9 minute(s).

but of course they don't time their messages, so it could have been any time in the last 11 hours.

yet another update .....

at 09:30 this morning I sent this
9:30 AM
09:28 20/5/20 still waiting for some contact from you in response to my messages starting 14:19 on 18/5/20 I assume that as a financial company you are regulated by an ombundsman ?

amazingly I received this in response
You're now connected to John Vincent

after various messages in both directions I got this

since then nothing

I actually thought I was finally getting somewhere.

I THINK you should be alright logging on to your account, as long as you don't want to speak to them  :veryangry:

I certainly ignore or forward to Paypal security any e-mails that I get from 'them' other than the ones telling me I have money  :)

Without checking, I think the address to forward that email to is
spoof@paypal.com
when I forward a strange email, I do usually get an acknowledgement direct from PayPal.

Addit: Alan is correct, you should be okay logging into your PayPal account direct.

I guessed by the mail address it was crap but logged into my account (not via the link in that mail) and transferred the entire balance to my current account as a safety measure. If it's not in my account in a few days I'll worry about it then.
In the meantime thanks for the 'spoof@paypal.com' address. I'll forward it.
:thankyousign:

All genuine emails from either PayPal or eBay, WILL ALWAYS address you by your actual name, not your email address or Dear Sir etc etc.
Cheers, Trev.

certainly better to be safe especially with the problems with trying to contact Paypal if you have a problem, however, I'd guess that if you could transfer your ballance, then it might be ok.

mind you, after I'd received and forwarded the e-mail I got, I placed and paid for two order from BPM and one on fleabay before it all went t wrong  :-[
