Desperately trying to steer this thread away from Jenny Agutter who must be 190 in the shade now - I should know, I'm 189, my wife's car is still in the workshop as it had to be towed this morning. Yours truly had to stuff around with everything that entails, 'cos Mrs B was at work.

All this with only 5 sleeps before jumping on plane to UK!

Stress.. I LOVE IT.  :laugh3:

Lucky you don't live in leafy Surrey. Ever since the Olympics closed us down for two weeks its been open warfare between the lycra boys and the local community. You can't go for more than a few minutes without being confronted with some cyclists backside. Best is when there is a bunch of them, have the audacity to overtake and listen to the abuse you get - oh, it used to be so nice living around here.

Be fair - overtaking them on your skateboard isn't exactly good form ;) :D

You should just goose them as you go past  :D
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

I blame global warming. It used to be too cold and permanently drizzly  for most people to cycle ;-)

Went to hospital today, for blood tests prior to Oncology next Monday. Huge queue in blood test dept, and my ticket number was 50 more than the last one called! Screen stated 25 min wait, increasing to 38 min as it got nearer my number. Eventually want in 1hr and 15 min later! 5 bays and only 2 Phlebotomists working. Not their fault, obviously, but very poor management to have such queues.
And when I got home, letter from hospital cancelling my appointment next week, and moving to 9 June, so will need to go back the week before for more blood tests, as they need up to date results for my treatment.

Having been a victim of delayed appointments and long hours sat in a waiting room, you have my sympathy, Kipper, and I hope all goes well when you do finally get to see Oncology

Can you get your tests done at your doctors? It may be worth asking.
All my tests are done at our Medical Practice a week before my hospital appointments.
The blood tests are done between 07-45 & 09-00hrs daily. Usually in and out within 10 minutes.

Not sure it's the same everywhere with the NHS but I had a blood test at the hospital and when I went to my GP she could not see the results so I had to have more done at the doctors.

Would go to the GP if I could, but these are specialist bloods, that the GP Phlebo is not qualified to do. The bloods also go direct to the lab this morning (or today, this afternoon), not hanging around for a van to collect and take to the local (different) hospital, and the results to be lost under a mound of paper at the GP (been there, done that).

I don't post on this thread very often as it takes a lot to get me angry, but now I am really angry.  Managed to have the winning bid on Saturday on an eBay item that I had been after for quite a while, this evening I receive the following communication from the seller, stinks to me.

Dear  :censored:,

Hi,
unfortunately I have posted your item to another one of my customers by mistake, he has now gone on holiday and will not be back until the middle of June. The question is do you want to wait that long or would you prefer that I give you a full refund, when I get it back from him I will let you know and give you 1st option to buy it if you don't buy another in the meantime. I am really sorry about this.
Kind regards Jen

Sounds a bit fishy to me. Have they sold it twice and are waiting for new supplies?

Sounds believable to me having managed to do exactly that once - thankfully not to someone who went away !
