As long as it doesn't contain horsemeat
You mean "as long as it doesnt contain un-labeled horse meat" ?

After the Tesco fiasco I thort " can I buy horse meat in the UK", I mean, I knew it was legal, but is there anyone selling it.
So after a bit of googling I found only one online supplier and ,,,
here is the angry bit ! ,,,
Because of all the publicity he was sold out till next month !!!! Ha !!!

I just buy the ready made frozen ones,4 minutes in the Halogen cooker for five or six Yorkshire puddings and then put them on a plate and pour treacle in them, yummy :) :) :)

Allan

always baffled me when I wer' a lad,

if it was with roast beef it was a yorkshire pudding,
but according to my gran, with golden syrup it was a batter pudding  ::)

surfaceman

FROZEN Yorkshire Puds!

That's right up there with ( excuse me for this, it IS just after Burns Night ) ready made mashed potatoes and "bashed" neeps ( for all you southerners, neeps is swedes ). Can nobody do any simple cooking anymore??

As for "ready frozen ice cubes" ... !!!

I go to the pub and they serve

Alan

Yep, made those myself before too, and you don't have to put up with "pub talk" putting you off your food either ;).

Simple answer no, most people are too lazy to prepare and cook real food these days, hence the reliance on ready-made and the reason why there are so many fat bas obese people too! Too much hidden fats and sugar.

I may be a Southerner but I did make neeps 'n' tatties to go with our Macsween's haggis for Burns Night Supper, followed by delicious home made Cranachan. My Edinburgh-born-and-bred misses had no complaints  :D

Well I don't know how to cook and my wife is too ill to cook so I don't have a choice really.

Allan
I'm not a complete idiot..some bits are missing.

Strewth! There's more intensity here than on the Great British Bake Off :o ;D
Each to their own, I say, dependent on personal circumstances such as ability, time etc.
Dunno about treacle but after a roast dinner I used to have the rest of the Yorkshire with golden syrup for dessert :food:

So why is Treacle Tart made with golden syrup then? :P

Paul

surfaceman

Nah, not posh or working class - it seems to be a regional thing :

I was reliably informed ( by my southern English missus ) that what I knew to be Golden Syrup was in fact Treacle, and what I knew to be Treacle was in fact Molasses!

I wasn't silly ( or brave? ) enough to try to correct her!

Alex

Newportnobby

As far as I know all the treacle I have seen is almost black, not golden.
The syrup I used to have was in a green and gold tin with a recumbent lion in the picture and was a pale gold colour :confused1:

Bikeracer

It still does I think, but the one I've got is in a squeezy bottle. But I still call it treacle.
