Looking for a little help with this, I have got 5 mk3 sleepers that I intend to model into the Charter rake with white roof tops, I have made a start on using white matte to change those, my questions are for the actually carriages:

1. What numbers were the charter Mk3s?

2. Which ones were designated SLE or SLEP

3. Was the Intercity logo the same as on the regular revenue sleepers?

4. Were there any other markings/decals (this is prior to the Pete Waterman era)

After that it's onto the Mk1s and the oddball mk2 brake they used (I don't think Farish have done the intercity FO?)

Thanks for any help

IC

Ps, no i don't have or have access to a spotters platform 5 book

Farish have released the FO in crimson/cream, maroon, green, chocolate/cream and blue grey.

They have released the FK in Intercity but missing the first class markings.

Will ch3ck if my P5s have any info. Do you have pool codes or years of interest?

Thank you for the replies, I have trawled through quite a few of those links already, the most informative was the formations of the mk1s, they all appear to be FOs so a respray is probably my only way to get IC FOs for now with the new tooling, the BFK was the mk2, and the kitchen coaches were RBRs which I believe will also need to be resprays.

There is very little on the sleeper coaches though, close up individual shots of them appear thin on the ground.

I would be looking for late 80s into the 90s, I do recall a nice photo on the ECML of 90017 in ex works condition hauling a Landcruise charter

I'm not sure what the numbers were

Definitely some had white roofs but they never remained white for long

2. Which ones were designated SLE or SLEP

According to the 1993 Platform 5 coaching stock book the following were in the Charter pools

SLEP

10500/3/14/30-33/5/7/46/49/54/63/66/72/74-75/80/94/601

SLE

10646/55/57/61-62/724-729

The ones in red were allocated to other pools in 1989.

Charter pool brakes in my 1993 book were

Mk1 BFK - 17015/23
Mk1 BCK - 21241-2/46/65-66/68-69/74
Mk1 BSK - 35465/9
Mk2d BFK - 17141/4/6/51/3/6/9/64/5/67-72

These were in the 1989 book

Mk1 BFK 17007/15/23/25
Mk1 BCK 21240-2/46-47/66/68
Mk1 BSK 35309/448-50/54/65/7/9/76/8/81
Mk2 BFK 17031/7/41-43/47/51-52/54
Mk2a BFK 17066/101/3
Mk2c BFK 17117/36
Mk2d BFK 17155

Do you have a particular number for the oddball if it's not listed above?

That is perfect, thank you to all who have replied and provided info and resource links.

The Mk2 brake with the landcruise white roof I believe was 17042, the other website had a pic of it and from reading that thread it was indicated to be 17042

Is a good link and there is a clear shot of the rake provided by a ' merfyn ' which should answer that query. Hopefully buzzard has answered the numbers situation, apologies from me I was at work without my P5 books

Regarding the Logos, yes my understanding is it was the same. The one thing to watch out for is in the Early years (first season or two) it was the old style logo "InterCity" before switching to INTERCITY. I believe they were quite thorough with adding the new logos.

I see Buzzard has kindly supplied coach numbers form 1993, if you need any other years please do ask and I can help out.

From 1990, the following Mk3 sleepers were in the ICHV (Intercity VIP) pool based a Bounds Green (BN):

SLEP (AU4G): 10500, 10503, 10514
SLE (AS4G): 10646, 10661, 10662, 10724, 10725, 10726, 10727, 10728, 10729

All in Intercity colours apart from '662, '725, '728 & '729.

10727 was withdrawn in it's white roof livery:
