Another one from the unprocessed pile:

I presume it has been modified to represent a smoking car.

Wonder what happened there? Judging by the wire bits on the roof, it's one of their later models!  :hmmm:

Yeah, it's a "Blue Riband" era model, I suspect the or a previous owner did something with glue which resulted in the foggy-looking atmosphere. It's otherwise in reasonable condition.

I have it down for a weathering practice candidate whenever I finally have the time for that kind of thing.

Bealman

Well the smokey window bit's already done for you  ;D

I'm currently running me Blue Pullman around on the coffee table again. Rain stopped play on the B&CE.

A few colourful sheds for the discerning reader.
Plus the ecofrets have finally managed to get a run on the layout, thought I would team them with the NHS shed for the run. Also recently purchased 66419 seen out having its first run. Whilst I have had NHS for a while I only managed to chip it last week.

That's one big show of power and haulage in that photo!

Hi there,

Fogging caused by glue (esp cyano) can sometimes be cured by an application of Johnson's Klear floor cleaner.  It has certainly worked for me in the past.

Having said that, the uniformity on show in this image looks more like the effect of UV on some clear plastics... I wonder if it's been left in direct sunlight (maybe on a window sill) for a long period.  Is the fogging on one side only?

cheers

Ben A.

The fogging is on both sides. There is a glue mark on the underside which gives the impression glue has at some point been applied to the interior, possibly to glue the weight in space. It's not a big deal though.

Is it actually the famous Sauna Car from the Coronation Scot?

I was manning the NGS stand at TINGS over the weekend, it was fairly well attended but quite, attendance was a fair bit down on the last one in 2019.I sneaked away and picked up a few bargains.

When I got home the 3 custom made coaches needed to complete my NMT waiting for me, so I now have a complete 5+2 NMT.

Yesterday visited Rails to trade in some OO stock and left there with these Farish beauties:

372-935 Maunsell N 2-6-0 31810 in weathered BR late crest
377-450C 16T BR (ex-Ministry of Supply) slope-sided mineral open
377-967A 12T BR (ex-LNER) ventilated van
377-954A 13T LNER high-sided steel open wagon with wooden doors
377-975A 12T LNER ventilated van

"I believe in positive, timely solutions, not vague, future promises"

Now that's what I call a good result - getting rid of OO and coming back with real stuff.

That's a lovely-looking locomotive. You'll have to get some birdcages now!  :beers:

This gnarly old Farish Whizzo joined my fleet courtesy of Robert Shrives yesterday. Needs a bit of running in bit I'm really happy to have it and I particularly like the weathering.
