My Summer Solstice purchases dropped on my door step this morning, a DCC fitted Class 220 Voyager and a Mk3 1st class carriage for my HST set.

N Class 1823, Southern Lined (DCC sound fitted) arrived yesterday and first impressions are very nice it is, especially teamed up with the Birdcage Coach Set. Not run yet, I don't have a "tail chase" track to run it, I'll run in on a rolling road. Maybe post a video later.
This is only my second venture into DCC sound, first was a "Youchoos" purchase in to my SE&CR C Class, very good that is as well.

SERIOUSLY??????

What have I done????

Well ever since my first TINGS experience way back in 2008 we happened to see a layout with a Desert Sand Western and no matter how much we hate the noisy neighbours it has always been a loco I have liked especially in this colour.

I can justify running it on 1962 SR metals as either route trials or a diversion so when this Osborns special edition appeared on Ebay at a mere £120 I knew it was a too good an opportunity to miss.

The only disaster.........we flogged all our incorrect BR maroon coaches 2 years ago!!!

There's nothing wrong with maroon coaches behind a BR(S) loco. Inter-regional trains in particular would be made up of Maroon coaches:
https://flic.kr/p/23w2KTx (1963)
https://flic.kr/p/zDC6mS (1964)
https://flic.kr/p/A4VK68 (1964)
https://flic.kr/p/EmtpU (1964)

You can even mix them with some green ones:

In many cases inter-regional trains were worked by stock from both regions. For example, a Yorkshire to the south coast service could be run with a train of Gresley or Thompsons and another of Bulleids.

Having purchased several class 66's and pre-ordered a Class 59 I thought I should have some suitable wagons for them to haul so I have acquired 8 MBA Mega boxes.

They might be on an exchange visit, but will have to restrict their movements?  :hmmm:
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

That's okay, seeing as I am not modelling a British layout ... ;)

Postie dropped my 56XX on my door mat today, it looks very nice and comes with comprehensive documentation. I will post a video when I get the test track out.
