Title: Odd Couplings
Post by: Catsick on May 19, 2022, 11:40:50 AM
Odd as it's not what's standard in my collection but I've got it on a few Fleischmann wagons and was it a replacement for the standard types we're all used to or is it a one off?
I have a 3 wagon set which also uses these to connect the 3 together but then uses the normal rapido ones at either end.

Any advice welcome thanks  :)

Yes that's a Fleischmann Profi Coupling.  They work quite well but personally I think they look worse than standard Rapido couplings :)  I always replace them with Rapidos to be compatible with all my other stock.

Some sets come with them fitted, but in general Fleischmann stuff still comes with Rapidos fitted.

Brilliant, thank you very much  :)
Might get these swapped over or may sell... not sure yet lol

You'll probably need Fleischmann's own Rapido couplings with their specific coupling shank which is not the same as a generic T-shank nor NEM.  The older Fleischmann pocket has a flat plate spring at the rear, and the coupling shank has a bulge with a hole which fits over a thin pin.

Thanks, just had a quick look and yep, need a coupler that I've not got in the spares box.
