Quote from: icairns on December 05, 2024, 01:03:48 AMThis may have been a temporary problem as I have not seen these rainbow photos for a couple of days now.

Well, I spoke too soon.  More rainbow examples appeared today.  These occurred when I opened the post for the first time.  When I went back into the posts later in the day, the photos were all normal.

Screen shots below.  (Note: When I look at the photos that are rainbow style in posts, the text is normal.  However, in the screen shots below, some of the text appears pixelated - this must have been caused by my process of posting these screenshots).

General Discussion / Re: My local bus stop
Last post by Bealman - December 05, 2024, 11:29:00 PM
In all fairness, Colin, it was bin night on Wednesday and I'd only just brought ours in before I walked to the bus stop. So I'll let them off this time. They've been brought in, I noticed this morning.

I notice that the status of K-Type Pullmans on the Revolution Trains website has changed to;

"Order book will open late Nov/early Dec 2024"

Would a 3D printed kit be of any use, or are you after RTR?

I've already done a Hall, County and now my King Arthurs are about to ship. As long as there's a suitable donor with the right sort of wheels, and I can find suitable drawings and photos for reference, a King shouldn't be difficult.

Quote from: Roy L S on November 18, 2024, 06:12:30 PMNow things are a bit hazy with the passage of time, but I recall DJM's first loco announced was the OO Gauge J94 which actually got released, which was then to be followed by the N Gauge Class 17 which got as far as EP. The third model (for which only CADs were shown) was the Class 23.

He later added the Q6 to the N Gauge "vapourware" list and I recall a GW Mogul followed by the N "King" and an APT in OO and N. However I think the DJM J94 in N (for which CADs were shown) was actually one of his last (if not the last) "announcements" before things headed rapidly down the pan.

Roy

The class 17 is now in the EFE range so it did get to market, as far as I know the J94 is nothing to do with his model and CAD's. The Q6 was planned along with a OO version, once Hornby announced theirs it put paid to his version

Probably controversial but I think DJ was unlucky, the issues he told of with the class 17 where China asked for extra money so he had to give all who paid to get it made their money back. That money must have come from somewhere and I suspect things like the King funds were "borrowed" to repay everyone. If just one of the projects he planned had been delivered I reckon he may have survived and we would finally have an N gauge King model. Maybe someone will produce one soon - EFE perhaps?

Curious that none of their post history is n gauge modelling related.

It's clearly an AI bot - but a very good one, better than most...

Cheers,

Their first 'generic' post about other hobbies also had a more subtle link. This pretty much proves my theory :)
