are you going to go for the plus-fours as well ?

I wouldn't buy a suit without trying it on, with someone on hand to make note of any alterations required. If you are going to spend several hundreds of pounds on a good quality suit best to go to a bespoke tailor.

Spend as little as possible on what you need so you can spend as much as possible on what you want.

Ok I forgot to ask.

But when is it ever cold enough in Texas to wear Tweed?

October - March can have cool-to-freezing weather.

The Q

Since you can get a kilt with tweed jacket in Texas ( "got kilt" in houston) you should be able to get a tweed suit.
I got my tweed jacket to wear with my kilt for a fiver,  at a charity shop,  new unused,  and as I later found out £300s worth!!!

I've been to Texas in early March, you're quite correct it's cooling!

The wife and I saw locals in light pullovers! Pullovers I tell you. We were struggling to cope ourselves despite being in shorts and tee-shirts and dripping with perspiration!

I will say this though, you'll cut quite the dash at the ballpark.
