You could always chop two EMD F7s in half and glue the 2 cab ends together  :D

I've got myself a pair of Life-Like E7 bodies in undercoat grey for a conversion (the chassis went into some of my Cl.60 kits). There's a bit of rearrangement of the side panels to get the windows and doors into the correct order/spacing and I'm ignoring the very minor width difference. The old Bachmann SD-40 bogies are the correct length.
Has to be done - my first ever diesel was a Tri-ang double-ended 'pseudo B' over 50 years ago!

Hi, Aust'n'rail     http://www.aust-n-rail.com.au/index.htm  has the b class in V line but not VR. He has been expecting VR sine mid last year, so hopefully we should see them either by Sandown or Caulfield shows.
Pete Boorman has shells that need a lifelike SD7 chassis. slight mods (grind off the front corners of the weights). I have both the B and S from Pete Boorman. Assembly is easy, but my painting skills let me down in photography, they are great with the naked eye tho at 2-3ft. His decals are great, but you need to match your VR yellow to the decals otherwise there is a distinct change in colour between the logos and side strips and the bits you have painted - I speak from hard won experience. There is a school of thought that you can run an atlas chassis instead, but it has not worked for me. If you run DCC then best to drop the fuel tank, put the chip there and fashion sides for a tank to disguise.
http://www.peterboormansworkshop.com.au/ is Pete's website. It is crap but a considerable step up from what he had prior, but his kits are terrific and he is always handy on the phone for a chat - a really good guy.
Also check out the manufacturers guide shown in a previous link, really worthwhile "trip".
hope this helps a bit, cheers, Bill.
