It is with great sadness that I have to inform the forum of the very tragic sudden death of Pete Mc. He was 44 years old.
[admin]Apologies for adding a little to the first post, but I thought that members would like to know that members of his family have been looking at this thread and really appreciate the messages. Cheers, Tank.[/admin]

That is such sad news.
Deepest sympathy to all of the family.
Very shocked indeed to hear this, especially as Pete and I were in contact via PM not so long ago and he was in great spirits with his replacement car. Having met Pete a few times at various shows he was great company and his contributions to the forum, mainly about DCC and sound, showed his dedication.
You'll be sorely missed, Pete. :goodbye:
That is rather a shock and extremely sad, please pass my condolences too
Extremely shocked to hear this....... :( :( :(
Will miss those late night posts of Pete's where you could make a cuppa before reading because usually you knew you were in for a long one........ :D
Will remember him most for his enthusiasm for and his knowledge of DCC and DCC sound.

Such a shock to hear this very sad news. His knowledge of DCC, and particularly DCC sound, was encyclopaedic and his contributions to the forum will be sorely missed.
RIP Pete. Gone to that great big train set in the sky.
This is a real shock to hear. Pete Mc wrote such long and interesting posts (even the DCC ones), and 44 is no age at all. I'd like to offer my condolences to his family at this very sad time.
Peter
Even though I had very few contacts with Peter it is always sad to lose someone who is active and vibrant.
Obviously all our thoughts are with those who are left behind.
Regards, Peter.

Truly devastating news :( I was fortunate enough to know Pete fairly well outside of the group. Bumped into him at many shows and he was a regular operator on Sheaf with his magnificent fleet of sound locos. R.I.P Pete, you will be missed.

That's terribly sad...
Very, very sad news.
Condolences to all his family.
Just read about Pete's death on Facebook, and to say it came as a shock is an understatement, especially at such a young age. I had the pleasure of meeting Pete at TINGS 2012 and having a really good chat, which carried on via the forum. I am privileged to have known him and so sad he has gone.
Condolences to all his family. :'(
Can only repeat what has gone previously, far too young!

Just been reading of Nelson Mandela's death, thought I'd cheer myself up on the 'forum', then to hear of Pete's death has taken my legs from under me, sad is such a silly word. My thoughts are with Pete's family and friends. John.
So sad to hear, I can only echo what's already been said...

Shocking news and condolences to his family and friends.

Mike
I have a terrible memory for names, but I never forget a face.
I'm sure Pete must have said hi to me sometime in the past.
From what you guys say here it's a double hit really. Firstly a great guy has gone, and secondly a great and knowledgable N gauger has reduced our collective ranks.
Sympathys from me to his family and all who knew him.
Dave
I never got the opportunity to meet Pete, but looking at the kind and heartfelt words and condolences here, I feel the loss as you all do.
Please pass on my best wishes to his family if anyone gets in touch.
Andy

I can only echo all the other posts - 44 is, as many have said, no age at all and this news is very sad indeed. Many condolences and much sympathy to his family, friends, and N gaugers who are all feeling his loss.
So sad to hear, especially to somebody so young.
My deepest sympathy to family and friends.
Steve
