I'm thinking about getting one of the Tomix track cleaning cars, but in the pictures it looks quite oversize (I think the correct term is 'out of gauge'). It may just be that the wheels/bogies are very small, but the body looks very tall, and quite wide too. Does anyone have (or could take) a couple of pictures of one next to something else (like a mk1 coach, for example) so I can see how much taller/wider it is?

Alternatively, if someone could measure the height of it from the top of the rail, and the width of the body.

I'm just a little concerned that it won't fit in a platform/goods shed/loco shed etc., in which case it wouldn't actually be much use to me.

Thanks muchly.

28mm from the top of the rail, and 20mm wide.

If the outside framed 08 can get along your platforms so will the Tomix track cleaner.  I do have to remove the plug that adjusts the settings to get through one of my low tunnels but as I've now moded it for DCC it is no longer a problem.  :)

I had to cut down the switch on top with a razor saw so that it would fit under the baseboard framing of a covered section on my layout.

Have you found somewhere that stocks them? I wanted to get one a while a go and everyone says out of stock and discontinued.

Got mine sent from Japan off eBay.

Loads there. [urlhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=TOMIX+%E2%9D%A4+N+Scale+6425&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XTOMIX++N+Scale+6425.TRS0&_nkw=TOMIX++N+Scale+6425&_sacat=0][/url]

Came in a week or so, and didn't have to pay duty/vat or whatever.

Ah, that's great! Thanks!

Thanks, but I've already ordered from Japan, and it shipped yesterday so too late to cancel.
