Wouldn't it be good to get a list of items stolen and post it on here? Then the experts here, if offered items, or see any in a car boot sale/auction, could notify the relevant people.

And of course the additional problem is that there are hundreds of most of those models being sold legitimately all the time. Unless the thieves are there with the entire collection it's going to be hard to spot.

The photo appears to be the Marklin HO scale Flying Scotsman though, may not be representative, but there aren't many of those sold.
