I have an Arnold 5BEL Unit where the motor coach will only travel forward. In reverse, the lights work as normal but the unit fails to move.
On taking the body off and investigating, it appears that the top magnet is loose inside the motor housing, allowing the motor to turn in one direction only.
Is there a fix for this, or is the motor in need of replacement?
Can anyone recommend someone who knows how to fix it?

I presume it's a sealed can motor.    Sometimes you can remove the end cap if there are folded tabs, and get in there to glue the magnet back in place, service the commutator etc.  but more than likely it needs a new motor.   Have you taken the motor out and confirmed that's the problem?
[edit] You'd also have to remove the worm to gain access to the inside of the motor, so you'll need a worm puller tool [/edit]

I get a lot of my Arnold spares from AC Model Spares.  They have the motor you need in stock

Hey thanks for the info and the copy service sheet. The motor is actually open-frame, so I'm looking at supporting the magnet back in place and glueing it through a small hole in the top frame.
Many thanks!
