Just been looking at threads for the NGF meet ups at Peterborough and at Bamber Bridge. The BB one in 2014 featured Dave Jones announcing plans for a J94, class 17 and class 23.
We've had 2 of the 3 from EFE but I suspect the last wasn't far enough down the track to be taken up by anyone. Happy to be proved wrong.

The class 15 Bo-Bo was more numerous and successful than the baby deltic. whether that counts for anything, as we already have a Teddy Bear Class 14, a Co-Bo and a Clayton, and soon a Warship prototype. All pretty niche.

I think DJM also announced an LNER Q6 0-8-0 at some point.

I have a 3D print of a Q6 on my workbench but am still looking for a suitable chassis.

Just like the prototype, much to the annoyance of commuters on the old 'GN' who probably longed to get the nice 'N2' 0-6-2T engines back.

There were a few 'stinkers' amongst the BR diesel classes but I think these Bo-Bos were the only ones built by English Electric.  Although BR interference with the design of the Class 50s made it a close run thing for a while.

I remember that Bamber Bridge meet up, I got a Pendo from Milton Keynes to Preston and a "Pacer" from there to Bamber Bridge with the said Dave Jones. It was a really good day if a bit of a trek.

Now things are a bit hazy with the passage of time, but I recall DJM's first loco announced was the OO Gauge J94 which actually got released, which was then to be followed by the N Gauge Class 17 which got as far as EP. The third model (for which only CADs were shown) was the Class 23.

He later added the Q6 to the N Gauge "vapourware" list and I recall a GW Mogul followed by the N "King" and an APT in OO and N. However I think the DJM J94 in N (for which CADs were shown) was actually one of his last (if not the last) "announcements" before things headed rapidly down the pan.

At least I have one courtesy of Dalteth (Iain) of this forum, but would like a RTR version maybe even with sound if that one Napier could be replicated

I never saw a Class 23 in the flesh but I have one on 'Ferryhill'.  It is a Silver Fox resin body on a GF Class 33 chassis (China production).

It is a nice model and runs well but I am not sure what it is doing so far north.  Possibly because I have a soft spot for the less successful diesel designs (Metrovick Co-Bos and Class 17 Claytons, for example).  Anyone can like a Class 55 Deltic (I do, too!).

Yes, indeed, Martyn.  EE's only stinkers.

The EE 'Type 1' Bo-Bo was a remarkable machine with production restarted in 1965 (I think) to replace the type -  'Clayton' Bo-Bo, a real 'stinker' -  that was meant to replace them.

I remember seeing lots 'N' lots of withdrawn 'Claytons' at the former Ardrossan steam shed.  Meanwhile the EEs continued to give years of reliable service.

My late Father-in-Law was an engineman at Inverness and rated the EE 'Type 1s' highly.

The 1:1 gauge reproduction will be finished eventually, so there will be a power unit to record for the sound file types....

I too have a class 23 Silver Fox body on a Farish chassis it is an old chassis with metal gears but it runs very well not at all noisy .
John painted it for me as we used to have a display of all his models on the B H E stand I did pay him for painting it and the for the chassis but I was very lucky he only charged mates rates as we were promoting his kits .WE sold lots of them once we displayed the painted ones.They were very good resin mouldings not 3D prints .
