I note that in conjunction with the Swanage railway and others they are producing Adams T3 class 4-4-0 No 563 in '0rribly 0versize" I've sent an Email to Swanage railway asking if they can shrink one for me.(about 6 minutes in the video)
Cheers MIKE

My wife has my Christmas list  ;)

I'm also delighted to see the RTR D600s, just a shame that D600 herself is not available in original condition.

I have my fingers and toes crossed for a retooled PGA Tullis Russell wagon and for an N gauge PRA wagon in the future.

I thought the Mk2F DBSO ran with Mk3 and a class 47 on Edinburgh Glasgow services (C&M Models commissioned the Mk3 from Dapol). The Scotrail Mk2a were more usually found on the likes of the Glasgow to Aberdeen trains, running with a BG or BSO.

Yes, I rarely pre-order items, but I have done so for these as there will be about eight years worth of demand to satisfy and I don't want to miss out.

Steven B

You'll find some of the 2022 batch of Blue/Grey Mk2 BSO (374-680A) in the shops. There's not been a Blue/Grey TSO since 2015!

It would have been nice if they'd re-run the NSE versions too. Maybe a Spring 2025 release? Perhaps with a Regional Railways BSO or TSO or FK in Transpennine.

It'd be really nice if they'd tool the BFK interior and underframe (shared body with the BSO).

I wonder how many people would notice if you just applied a yellow stripe?

The trouble is, I want a BFK in Regional Railways colours - Farish have yet to do the BSO in these colours (which I believe is because only Mk2b/2c BSO carried the livery).

My rake of Reg' Rail' Mk2a is currently running with a Mk1 BSK, which whilst prototypically correct wasn't a common occurrence - BFK would be preferable (as would a Mk2b/Mk2c!).

In the Rail Express formations guide for Scotrail push-pull trains they list one as

DBSO - 4 x Mk2 TSO and 47711 all all in Scotrail from Perth to Glasgow in May 86

Couple of other formations of use

DBSO - Mk2 FK, 3 x Mk2 TSO in BR Blue & Grey and 47710 in blue Edinburgh to Inverness July 84

47701 Scotrail, Mk1 BG Scotrail,m 3 x Mk2D TSO, Mk2 TSOT all Scotrail, Mk2F FO (blue & grey) and DBSO Scotrail

Steven B

Yeah, I've got two BSOs to make up for the lack of TSOs, but oddly enough I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday. Although I didn't realise that the underframe is different, I was thinking that I could just add the seating section from a FK and add the yellow stripe. Is the underframe radically different?

Steven B

I've learnt something today - I had no idea the Scotrail Mk2a ran with the Mk2F DBSO.

Ignore my early comment about the BFK underframe being different to the BSO - I think they're broadly the same. I was mixing them up with the Mk2F TSO and BSO which do have differences.

As I grew up in Perth and frequented Perth station...frequently, I can confirm the Glasgow Aberdeen push pull services were DBSOs and Mk2s.
