The 1:160 Class 66s for MBU are not Dapol products. We are producing these locos in O Gauge for MBU but not N for obvious reasons.

Our own 66 is still in development and expected around the end of next year. This will have an 18-pin decoder socket and is being made in the same factory as the Class 68, 59 and 50.

Interesting! The wording on their website is ambiguous and does suggest a level of involvement from Dapol. In which case it potentially is a 'proper' 1:160 66.

MBU/DM Toys could have commissioned their class 66 models from Kato, which would make them 1:160.

Their website is ambiguous though as there's many references to Dapol, but my reading is that it's limited to the DCC sound project.

(still waiting for Dapol MK3 sleepers, due in the summer now not arriving until next year...)

Surely Kato would want a monstrous order quantity though, that seems unlikely. Also E24 decoder socket? Apologies, we've got two parallel discussions going on now though.

Makes sense that the (proper) Dapol 66 is due in a year or so. Whilst I've not pre-ordered one it seems inevitable one finds its way into the stable!

The MBUnion prototypes are visible in this video from 1.35 onwards. I am sure now that they are 1:160 including the unique continental features.

We probably need to move this to the Continental Forum. My error in starting it here because of the background involvement of Dapol.
