Impressive gardens too George

Is that Anne's hard work?

Bealman

Yes, certainly is. My surname might be Green, but green-fingered I most definitely ain't!

Seriously though George, you have done a very good job.

Spotted at the bus stop last night. Dunno what it is, luckily the bus arrived before Bealman could mess with it :)

Could be an ASIO listening device in case you start talking to yourself again  ;)  :D

Saw this in the local rag today. I did my geology degree at this university, and am a little bit saddened. Not a lot, mind.

The academics are worried about their jobs.

Closing that course would be a very silly thing to do.  Very silly indeed.  I suggest they close the political science or media studies courses instead.

Incidentally, I noticed they didn't mention consulting the public in the last paragraph.  A serious omission, in my view.

With all good wishes

John

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Unfortunately, it's all about $$$. The very courses you suggest should be shut down (and I agree completely), are the ones that bring in the quids to the university.

So what will happen to the currently offered Bachelor degrees that are Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering focused?

I would rather have a healthy quantity of scientists around the joint rather than more baristas and dog walkers.

Papyrus

Closing such an important course does seem very short-sighted. I would hope some of the affected earth-science based companies might scream and shout a bit, or, even better, stump up some sponsorship.

Cheers,

Bats in the belfry?

No, bats at the bus stop last night. Bloody lice-ridden smelly things. At least I didn't get crapped on 8)

but they are protected, so someone must love them. Just not me when they drop "bat dung" all over my patio roof.

Bealman

Yeah, they're horrible. I had to have a tree in our backyard removed because there was a heap of them roosting in it. Batcrap everywhere and the stench!

They solved the problem at the resort on Dunk Island back in 1979 on our honeymoon...

The resort staff blasted them with shotguns!

what a good idea, probably get Mr. Plod running round if I did that in suburbia though.
