Thanks again for taking the time/trouble.

Glad they were of some interest! No problem at all!

The Project Manager and I are in Edinburgh for a few days, and it would be silly not to jump in the car and take a trip to South Queensferry for a look at the Forth Bridges. Not sure why everyone in the US thinks the weather in the UK is always terrible ...

And a shot across the bows of Waverley Station ...

Yep. My artistic director and I were looking forward to watching Edinburgh ring in the New Year from the comfort of our sofa, it might just be that we settle for BBC Alba instead....
I do hope Steve has a good raincoat!

:beers: We'd planned to leave Edinburgh on the 30th so we didn't have to get up crazy early for our LA flight today. It had just started to rain when we left at 8, by 10 on the road to Carlisle it was Noah's Ark weather. Things cleared up around Lancaster, and by the time we checked in to our Windsor hotel it was lovely :)

Nerd Note - the distance from our hotel at the foot of Edinburgh Castle on Grassmarket to the Castle Hotel at the foot of Windsor Castle came to exactly 400 miles. Not sure why we thought that was cool, but it was cool!

Currently over Reno on our inbound to LA in an hour. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Steve. Had I known you were staying at the Grassmarket I would have recommended the Beehive pub, when my now wife was completing her PhD at QMU that was our favourite pub. Glad you're home safe.

Oh, and we decided on BBC Scotland to see in the New Year. Neither of us speak Gaelic so BBC Alba is a lost cause for us.

Quote from: Trainfish on December 17, 2024, 09:28:19 PM........... last week I 'won' £12 on the postcode lottery even though it's been cancelled for weeks. I even checked to make sure my direct debit hadn't been taken which it hasn't (still hasn't)

Guess what? I won another £12 yesterday. I think I've won more since I stopped paying than when I was  :hmmm:  :D

hi   john   happy  new  year

can  i  have  your   winning  numbers   please

i  like  you  hardly   ever   won  and   doorbell  never  rang

  paul

Trainfish

HNY to you too. Do people still ring doorbells? Pretty much as you typed that we had a delivery where I heard a faint knock, went to the door and saw a van pulling away. Seems to be the usual here with DPD (Don't Press Doorbells).

My winning numbers were 10 and 3 but there are a few letters which need to go with them too as t's my postcode which 'won'  :D
