This arrived this morning.  :worried:

The wheels are 3mm in diameter, with plastic bushes that fit on a 1mm diameter axle. Using a 4mm x 11mm 3V motor with a variety of Nigel Lawton's pulleys and drive belts, plus a bit of hacking, it looks possible to motorise it!

Mine is here

I am hoping to couple it to a wagon with concealed motor as no DCC / motor . If you succeed - please post pictures.

The originals Had an engine from an Italian tank - 4 reverse gears and 1forward!

Spotted this Poole Farish Castle in the second hand cabinet of my local model shop.  It ran well on the shop's test track and as it is supposed to be Clun Castle (I'm not sure it is a very accurate representation), which means there's a local connection as Clun Castle was the first loco to be preserved at Tysley (near where I live and near where my layout is based).

Should do nicely for the GWR 125 celebrations later this month.

Went to the Corsham Show today and these came home with me

Individually they are

Dapol Class 67

BGF Class 20

NGS Inspection Saloon

and finally

Could not resist
Altogether a good day the first real day out since my heart attack, feeling a bit weary but very chuffed

Mr B - what model is that? I think iive seen it advertised somewhere as a German unit?

Nice looking thing.

Donald

hi Donald , its a maintenance thing'y by Hobbytrain from Gaugemaster , based on a German railway one , there is several to choose from , the crane/cab unit is the dummy , with the truck powered and is DCC ready (6 pin ) , they are pricey  , check with Gaugemaster and type in maintenance ,
I also have the track basher ...[smg id=26779 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 2323"]
[smg id=26780 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 2318"][smg id=26781 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 2320"][smg id=26782 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 2331"][smg id=26783 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 2332"]

the pictures are self explaining , the Bachmann de-coder is too large so a smaller chip will have to be fitted .

Alan.

mr magnolia

Yes - very nice indeed Alan.
Thanks for the supplementary photos. I shall have a little look on the gauge master 'let's see just how expensive we can make it' website!

Ah, I was sure I'd seen one somewhere! Thanks for that. I've ordered a couple of motors to try, unfortunately Paypal automatically defaulted to my parents old address, so I've got to wait for the package to be redirected to their new address, then sent on to me. I think I've worked out a way of fitting various pulleys and belts in the body. If I worked the ratios out correctly, the final drive ratio will be 1:136, though it means the motor will be visible through the doors. Oh well!

This arrived yesterday from Sheffield

Not much more to say other than it's a cracking model, runs well and I'm looking forward to getting some of the correct carriages to go behind it. Man, those new carriages are dear!

Just got my late BR crest. Looks great but so delicate - I'm afraid to take it out of the box!!
Tomorrow I will pluck up the courage.
Also received BR green class 47 which also looks great - again I'll risk taking it out of the box tomorrow. I'd forgotten how big class 47's were. Looks impressive.
:D :D
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Late crest out of the box - it will survive!
Lovely runner.
