Ok... this has got me beat. Clear green liquid. Clear nozzle.

Hit plunger, this white foam comes out.

Sorry, but Bealman no comprende.

What's the go of that?  :confused2:

Presumably the pump and nozzle aerate the liquid to an extent that the quantity of the liquid in the foam is so low that the colour is almost indetectable. It may also be that the bubbles in the foam are very reflective, thereby giving the white appearance.

It's the same with the old-fashioned Fairy washing up liquid - a dark green liquid but all the bubbles that are created are white - as well as keeping mummy's hands so soft, according to the adverts  ;)

I remember those old adverts.

It's disconcerting to me, though. Almost magic.  :uneasy:

Suppose it's a bit like grinding clear glass up - you end up with white powder. Likewise you put white solid salt into water and you end up with clear liquid.

But the scientist side of me agrees with you.... it's aeration. I just didn't think of that because it took me by surprise. I was expecting sticky green liquid!

Still bloody magic.  :beers:

Quick, someone do that thing where you wobble a pencil side to side and it looks like the pencil's gone all floppy, let's see if we can tip him over the edge!

I can explain it to you...

Sorry, but the pencil was a trick I learned from the Eagle comic a long time ago.

I would demonstrate it to my students in my teaching days.

As putting your index fingers together but focussing past them.

You will see a sausage which gets shorter and floats in mid air when you pull yer fingers apart.

Try it!

Put your index fingers tip to tip, six or so inches from your nose, you'll see a sausage!

Take them apart, the sausage shrinks and floats in midair.
