N Gauge Discussion / Minimal wish-listing
Last post by Steven B - Today at 01:28:11 PM
Over recent years I've been working on making all my trains more prototypical. Modelling the late 1980s I'm quite luck that most of what I'd like to run has been produced (but perhaps not in the liveries I like!).

There are still some gaps - plenty of them, but I've been giving some thought to what's the most important. The result is my minimal wish list of models either never produced, or not produced to current standards - one wagon, one coach and one loco/multiple unit.

Wagon: HEA
Coach: Mk2 BFK (C or D)
Loco/MU: Class 110

What would be on your minimal wish list?

As a "Brucie bonus" you can add one re-livery of an existing model - a rail freight grey class 47 please!

Ummmm? I wonder if it was regularly checked by a qualified mechanical engineer, or just the bloke who services the condom vending machines?  ;)

I was thinking it was the equivalent to being "double parked" in a pub in the UK but I'm probably wrong.

There is an Ebay seller offering job lots of Rietze 1/160 scale Iveco and Ford vans. Shipping to UK might break your price barriers. Search for item number 204344840670 or 394643442760 while stocks last.

Thanks @joe cassidy. Something along these lines has already been thought about although at my age I'm not really sure I want the hassle of setting up my own business. I took this position/rolee with a view of it taking me through to retirement without the stress of management which I previously did and I don't want to return to that if I can help it. I wouldn't be able to take any customers with me as all the customers (camp sites) I deal with are owned by the company and dealt with internally. Yes, I could provide sub-contract services to them but again, is it worth the hassle?

Thanks for the idea though.

Quote from: Trainfish on Today at 12:49:20 AMAbsolutely loved it mate. Unfortunately I've seen them make a lot of poor, bordering on amateurish, decisions and I feel this is yet another. The bottom line is that the work I and others do still needs to be done and they will have to use contractors to do it which will cost them more but what do I know eh?

Sorry to hear this bad news John.

Any chance of setting up your own business and taking your customers with you ?

For what it may be worth, given that I'm ordering from the UK, in the past year I have successfully bought from the following suppliers in France:
- Trains 160 (erm... frequently  :-[ )
- Architecture & Passion
- Cités Miniatures
- Bois Modélisme
- Riches Heures
- TJ Modèles, although at the time that was through his eBay site not his website
- Decapod for acrylic paints
