I still find it fabulous that there is so much rolling stock available these days. Just look at this little collection - four entirely different Southern brake vans. Not so long ago, this would have been almost a fantasy....

Not forgetting the Poole Farish LBSC 20t brake:

Strange how Dapol have never made a brake van to the best of my knowledge :hmmm:
They just seem to have left it for everyone else

When I had figured out that these were LBSCR ones I had an excuse to paint it in SR brown and red livery.

The original (Poole) Farish LBSC and GWR brake vans shared a common roof, but also the same error about the roofline at the end of the verandahs.

Neither prototype had the supporting timberwork modelled, just a curved angle-iron frame:

Easily corrected by a couple of upward cuts with a scalpel.

If anyone needs 34 brake vans, here is your opportunity:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204958357429?

The eBay seller, maryholl711, has had a number of unusual scratchbuilt locos up for auction over the past year or so and has an LNER Hush-Hush steam loco and two SR Leaders in Southern green and BR lined black livery up for auction right now.  These are not always of the highest quality but someone has obviously put a lot of effort into building them and deserves a lot of credit for doing this.

My guess is that the collection of brake vans may also have some unusual scratchbuilt items in the mix.
