Very dear V2, thinking I might hang onto my old one after all. Want to get hold of some collectors club items but the website mentioned for non members doesn't exist...

Quote from: Roy L S on August 07, 2024, 04:13:04 PMAs to traction tyres, the V2 will come with the tyred wheelset fitted, the option is to swap that out for a plain wheelset that comes in the accessory pack should anybody wish to.

@Roy L S
Roy, can I ask where you get that info from as, and I quote from BachFar's website......

With electrical pickup from the driving wheels and tender wheels and the option to have traction tyres fitted to one driving wheelset, this new V2 is on a steady footing as soon as it hits the rails.

.....it does not read to me as if the loco comes as standard with traction tyres fitted :confused1:

It was Bachmann's very own Richard Proudman who confirmed it to me in response to a query I raised with them.

Plus also, if you look further down the piece you have quoted from under "specification" is says: -

"Optional traction tyres fitted to the rear driving wheels (replacement wheelset without traction tyres supplied in the accessory pack)"

Regards

It does, it is here: -

https://www.bachmann-collectorsclub.co.uk/

I am assuming you are a member, in which case just log in using your username and password and the collectors club models can then be accessed under the tab "Club Products", then "N Scale Products", then "Locomotives" or "rolling stock".

Not a member. Found the link and On a more carefully look it actually does work but there are no n gauge products listed...

Out of the V2s planned I'm most interested in early crest lined black 60845.
It was briefly allocated at Woodford Halse 1950-51 then on loan for two spells to the Western Region 1952-53 https://www.brdatabase.info/locoqry.php?action=locodata&type=S&id=602202046&loco=4816

Hope 4771/60800 Green Arrow makes an appearance sometime!

I guess my "needs" are such that I have not been over stretched this year.  Some maroon Thompsons being the main purchase.  If I go for a V2 it will be the BR black.  But for the use I make of my early version - mainly the fish train from Cromarty, not sure I can justify it.  On the club layout, my Farish Mk 1s, Thompsons, and Dapol Gresleys mean I have plenty of options to give it a run.

Nope that's the collectors club (members) page

But the point is you can't buy Collectors Club products unless you are a member and to do that you have to register and pay your £39. Then you can log in and place an order.

No longer true. Non-members can now buy club items 'at full retail price'.

Really? Well I'll be blowed, I don't recall seeing that anywhere, I have just renewed my membership at the start of this week too!

I thought the whole point of a Collectors Club was to have exclusive products that nobody else could buy, but yes I can now see two prices quoted.

My apologies @class8mikado for the incorrect information.

I've just renewed mine too and was a bit surprised to pick this up, from the announcement video I think.

On one hand it seems that all the recent club locos are still available, including sound versions where appropriate, so this may be a way of ensuring future club models are viable, but this way they might as well be in the main range. The extra 15% off helps but it still means 2-3 loco purchases to make it pay off. Yes there's the wagon too but I don't think any of mine have been out of the box and the quarterly mag provides news that's pretty soon in the public domain.

It may have been more reasonable to have a period of exclusivity for a few months before they are available to all once the members have a chance to get in first
