I'm in a wee bubble off the west coast of Shetland (search Clair Platform) and happy to PM people for a chat ... can regale you with today's fiasco of trying to light the flare in readiness for starting back up after a 10 day planned shutdown ... happy to bore anyone in need of a distraction of what life on an oil platform is really like!

Stay safe and more now than ever we need to show those random acts of kindness Mick mentioned
Thanks for looking - Andrew

Can you set up an isolation ward there? ???
You know you're getting older when your mind makes commitments your body can't meet.

How about running a little diary thread on the Forum about life on a platform?

I'd be interested to know more, always keen to learn.

Keep your feet dry.

You could start a new thread - 'Confessions Of An Oil Rig Worker - Plumbing New Depths'.  ;)

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

Awesome, it's an area of employment of which I have no knowledge whatsoever. I look forward to the first instalment.

OK, back on subject... when I arrived back in Sydney from Hobart last night, I was amazed to find people sitting on top of each other when I called into a local club on the way home, even though there were signs everywhere saying keep your distance.

Likewise, driving home through the suburbs, people at outdoor bars and cafe's doing the same.

In Sydney's heatwave on Saturday, Bondi Beach was packed. Bronte Beach had to be closed.

The Aussies are just not getting the message!!!

I suffer with anxiety and high stress levels, and my GP recommended me to spend more time with my model railroad and my watercolour painting, in order to de-stress.

To have you guys onside as well comes as a huge comfort to me.  For someone who in all likelihood I don't know, to put themselves out there for my benefit, I am really moved by your kindness.

Don't underestimate this thread on the forum.  Just to know there is another outlet, and another escape from this bloody nightmare virus and the toll its taking on our mental health, means a lot to me and others who are struggling.

Thank You.
