er, were these not part of the batch which Dapol refused due to incorrectly printed number?
Might be why the photo is not a close up :

Ach, a wee bit of weathering and nobody will be able to tell the difference  ;)

I guess you could always ask them the question about them being "seconds"

Yes it does indeed look like one of the batch with the dodgy 2's! Mind it's barely noticeable and it meant losing out first time around wasn't a problem after all. As suggested it will be weathered, along with 66008 which also arrived today to replace the Colas body on my other dummy Dapol chassis. Pics to follow soon.

I went to a model railway show on saturday and one of the traders had one of these dummy 66s with the dodgy number. He had it up for sale for £25 and no mention of it being a second.

It pays to be aware of what you are looking at.

I think that's disgusting that people are willing to sell seconds with no mention of it.  >:(

Its certainly something people like the NGS should raise with Dapol, although I think Dapol tried quite hard to stop that occurring, just as Farish make the Checked and Tested/Sold as Seen stickers on returns really hard to get off (and bin the outer)

Still at least we now know which retailers to avoid for other purchases 8)

Alan has a point, I think it would be worth Tank forwarding a link to this thread to Dapol for their information

Are you by any chance a 'mystery shopper'? ;D
Seriously, it wasn't the same dealer was it? Methinks it's time to name and shame. >:(

Total-N still have 3 left @ £15 free P&P.

By the way if the order checkout shows £4 P&P ignore it, Wendy will amend the order manually so you are only charged £15.
