And here is the list with SCARM railway blog posts for December.

The last post for 2015 is about the beautiful Badalona train station in N scale created as virtual model in SCARM :)

I'm probably missing something, but how do I add that building to an existing plan?

Open the link, then download SCARM project file which is in the bottom of the blog post, open it on your PC, copy the building and paste it in your track plan (which you can open in another SCARM instance).

Thank you. I didn't even think of opening another SCARM instance.

Following very useful help from members I have been using both anyrail and Scarm for the past week.
My unbiased review as a novice user:
anyrail - really quick to get started and very intuitive to use. There are online tutorials but you can very quickly pick up all of the basic commands and build a layout with few problems.
Scarm- not very intuitive to use, you really do need to work through the online tutorials. For example there is no rotate command in Scarm, but there is a simple work-around. However, the chances of you working out the work-around on your own are slim.
So my Quick Summary:
anyrail is really easy to use and you can quickly create a layout that will work. You can ensure that your track plan will fit the baseboard. The 50 component limit in the free version is restrictive.
Scarm is more difficult to use and you have to (IMHO) work through the tutorials to prevent serious frustration. Scarm is worth the effort if you want to create a 3D model of your layout. This functionality is top class and means that you can check that complex multi-level layouts will work, and you can visualise what they will look like.
Whilst I wait for planning permission (!) for my real layout (less than a month away now) I will continue to model in software.

I hope that this helps!  :)

Good summary
If you just want to plan a layout, without any 3D frills, I don't think you can beat AnyRail - and the paid version is not too expensive.
 :beers:
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Here is the only post in SCARM Railroad Modeling Blog for January:

Reset SCARM Settings to Defaults

Use the method, described above if you want to revert to default settings and/or if you have troubles when starting the program - resetting can be of help.

Now I am finishing and testing some new features in SCARM (finally, the functions for easy rotation and flip of the tracks will appear) and the next version should be released soon, I hope :)

And the post for February is about possible Discrepancy Between Elements on the Layout and the Parts List - check it to see what are the most common causes for that.
