I know I might be accused of having my rose coloured specs on, but to me, reading the article in the second link just shows that all the 'progress' we have had over the last few decades, is not necessarily 'progress'.

Well that has solved the mystery of the vehicle I saw delivering milk in my street early one morning when I was on the way to work!
Couldn't identify the manufacturer, and certainly different to the usual Smiths Electric Vehicles built floats that are still running round here. Haven't seen it since, so might have just been on trial from Ipswich depot.
Wonder if they will last 30+ years like the previous generations....
