Farish 350
« on: August 18, 2018, 09:49:55 am »
Has anyone managed to remove the bodies of these beggars! I want to fit DCC chips and I've tried everything to remove the body, even the guitar pick method. I just cant seem to get between the body and the chassis, is there a knack or trick to this.

The Farish instruction sheet says start at the cab door and work back, but it's got me stumped. Any help gratefully recieved  :D

Start under the passenger doors and work outward, theyíre tight, but they do come once you get a nail in.

Yes, definitely! Whilst I suspect a 6Ē steel nail may work, it may permanently compromise the integrity of the model...  :worried:

Use a new scalpel knife blade and a magnifying headset to help you insert the blade into the tiny gap.  First find the gap!

That sounds like a very easy way to scratch the body! Iíve done about 15, and never used anything other than a finger nail. I accept thatís not very helpful if you donít have any, mind.

Use the transparent plastic that comes in the top of a loco box just cut it in half and use one each side of the coach or loco body .
