Some very good N gauge layouts at the show (Coyote Creek a no show) but many of the traders seemed not to have heard of N gauge ::) The outside catering furnished me with probably the most tasteless burger and coffee for 5.50 ( :o) I have ever tried but succeeded in scalding the skin off the roof of my mouth. Anyway - to the good bits........

Dunnlakin - by forum member 'Mainline'

Henley - Mike Taylor (B & NF MRC)

Llwyn Grug - forum member Les Neherlich and Preston MRC

Monkchester - Newcastle & District MRS (seeking bookings for this layout which has been featured in a series in Railway Modeller but, being fairly large, requires a van and 4 operators so maybe not one for a small show). Scanning from R to L..............

Last but not least..
Bethandale - Mike Shakespeare (B & NF MRC) who brought his layout to one of our Bamber Bridge meet ups all that time ago

There was a pretty good 00 layout but the operators seemed content to chat amongst themselves whilst considering a class 24 idling away as something moving :unimpressed:
I just thought "if they can't be arbothered then nor can I"

Good to see a few fellow railway nuts and I hope anyone else who went enjoyed the show

speaking of engaging with the public i remember lending a hand with mike watts of springfield spa, his other helper was the most untalkative bloke and content to move 1 train every ten minutes until he jeed him up and i moved a loco on a freight then a loco and 2 coaches and it became a hint ....

i noticed mike was not operating he was explaining electrics to a viewer. i ended up speaking with a guy new to n gauge and helping him with ideas, for a space saving idea after he had spent 6 on the worst sausage chips and cuppa and brought a loco. mike reminded me we exhibitors need to engage and we offered to test his new loco - pardon the pun - he was chuffed to pieces. i even gave him scenic tips - so  mick thanks for that

Michael Watts has sold Springfield Spa , and now has Webbs Wharf on the circuit. He loves chatting to people rather than running his layout , that`s when I usually get roped in . On the subject of food vans , the one at Fleetwood and Milton Keynes is just too expensive and not great food for the money.
