Farish Bogies whats the spare set for ?
« on: June 27, 2018, 01:14:42 pm »
Hi all

With the Graham Farish Black 5, Jubilee & STD Class 5 plus others I assume they supply a second set of front Bogies, what are they for as the is no mention of them in the instructions.

Thanks

They are closer to scale and give a better look but will not negotiate the tighter curves us Ngaugers like using. If you have more generous curves or only want to put the loco on display swap the bogie with out for the one with the larger wheels. It is actually possible to use them on tighter curves but you may need to trim the rear of the cylinder mouldings,

Thanks. I think they will stay in the bag then.

They do look much better than the undersize wheels, but even the smaller wheels you get now look better than those ridiculous tiddlers you used to get on old Farish locos which actually looked worse when later retooled with finer flanges.
