:hellosign: A most pleasing day in the shed today D1572 Class 47 two hours running with no major hiccups after a good track clean & slight prod to start. Hopefully a video soon but photos only for now starting with 1572 on the Justfarenough bridge

Ok now the hero from Sunday BRCW Type 3 with short mixed rake approaches the site for West Porthsea Town.

Just after taking this photo & now armed with much knowledge it has been decided the Turntable moves back to the West of the station making space for carriage Sidings on the Eastern approach. Any comments always welcome & thanks for looking
      regards Derek.

Hopefully more to follow during this weekend

:hellosign: & Evening all a mixed day today, really happy with the locos running so well straight from the box. Unfortunately I have discovered a problem with the electrics since re-locating the Turntable & I have a dead section of track through the station. Tomorrow will move the rail feeds around & hopefully solve the problem.
Photos of the Hymec first crossing the bridge

& around the curve towards the station

The Turntable is almost definitely in its final position

Which makes space for the Sidings, need to order more track

thanks for looking
    regards Derek

:hellosign: Good evening all, work & real life means slow progress, although testing is mostly very successful. The exception is the Dapol 4 car Cornish Voyager set which although purchased in 2007 has never run till this year.
The track plan has evolved again  :D . While testing one train is good two is twice as good it's a double main line all the way around
The other Dapol Voyager Class 221 is the first of the modern stock to test the layout

The Class 170 in First ScotRail livery

My favourite livery for the HST, a bargain from a second hand shop Sandown IOW couple of years ago- brilliant runner

Although in the grand scheme planning this modern stock will not run on this part of the layout I cannot deny they need a good run, indeed the Pendolino will run in here unless I win the lottery of course  :D
Now showing changes to the track plan, more space on the bridge, the junction to West Porthsea Quay is now on the inner line, makes sense honest. & just to show the Turntable stays put

Enjoying the testing phase but must start scenics soon. Thanks for looking
     regards Derek.

Hi Derek,

Was getting a bit worried there at the start. Thought I'd have to buy a TGV Atlantique and start building a tunnel....

 :hmmm:

Maybe in a few years time (lottery dependent) :)

Nice pics, thank you.

Looking forward to your scenic start.

Cheers weave  :beers:

PS. Looking at your controller there, TOO fast! HST doesn't stand for Hit Some Tarmac  :D

:hellosign: Thanks for looking Chris, I have a Kato TGV 10 car set, may have it`s turn soon, we`ll see. The controller is actually powering the Class 170, honest, a bit of oooomf was needed until it got warmed up. I am treating all my stock as new & running in accordingly
      regards Derek.

I don't think there is any substitute for an impromptu operating session...... suddenly that furrowed brow over clearances, isolating sections, dodgy chairs, and "where shall I put the bridge" disappear and you remember why you're doing this stuff!
If it looks right, it probably is right.

Excellent progress, Derek.  It's great to get trains running.

It's coming together nicely.

Best wishes.

The Table-Top Railway is a train set trying and failing to be a model railway.

I believe that train sets and model railways are fun.

:hellosign: &  good evening, well a month has passed & lots of real life issues & even more work means no progress on the scenics. Indeed the location of the layout will be changing so much  :hmmm: is happening.
But the best part is trains are running as much as possible, if not daily & the track plan is the same
(at least for now)
Mr postman brought me excellent new arrivals

Yes Dapol class 66 Patriot & Rapido/ Revolution Pendolino side by side for a running session. The 66 is in charge of the excellent T tankers also from Rapido/ Revolution deputising for the EWS G/F class 60 which needs attention.
A big    & thank you Mike, Ben & Gareth
     regards Derek
