Using OO9 points
« on: October 24, 2017, 05:53:28 pm »
I need a pair of approx 12" radius insulfrog points to use in the Deansmoor fiddle yard. I was thinking of trying the Peco OO9 points.  Anyone tried this? Are they code 80?

Or is there another brand of points I could try?

Cheers Jon 🙂

Yes they are code 80, and electrofrog also.  I have contemplated doing something similar.

I have used two in particular to create two curved return loops. If you use four of the set track 12" radius curves between the straight line of the points., you then have to use three of the the 12" curves plus two short bits of rail (approx 1" each side) to complete the second loop. This is due to the slightly differing geometry, hope this makes sense.

Will probably use them on my next fiddleyard if/when I need to build one.

My current yard uses Setrack insulfrog points, they've been in place for over 20 years and do the job but would prefer electrofrog.
