Better than elastic bands ... ...
« on: August 15, 2017, 09:47:17 pm »
For holding card kit parts together while glue sets, among other uses

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mudder-Multipurpose-Adjustable-Securing-Fastening/dp/B01EV6IRZS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1502829120&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=hook+and+loop&psc=1

Hook and loop strips, particularly useful for holding roof in place, elastic bands being comparatively narrow can sometimes distort, plus finding one that's not too tight or loose these being wider and adjustable do the job. (For holding corners in place while glue sets I use the magnetic pieces from York models)

Also handy for holding bundles of cable temporarily, but don't let SWMBO see them, she'll find loads of non railway uses for them.
Cheers MIKE

They look like like standard cable ties to me.... If so, they'd have to be cut off after one use?

Anyway they don't ship to Australia, it's telling me.

Bought similar a couple of years ago for cable management.  Quite good.

Or cheaper on e-bay.

Thanks for that. I wondered how they scored over much cheaper cable ties.

they work as well as ordinary cable ties but because of their size and tails look messier
