With typical bank holiday weather i.e. rather overcast and damp, I set about a P.D.Marsh multi media kit (Carnaby's Garage), all I can say is I'm glad I got it off e-bay for a fiver it is definitely not worth the nearly 40 RRP, The instructions are only of use to a experience modeller and the quality of the kit over all leaves a lot to be desired, it is very dated and compared to other laser cut kits expensive.

Another building for Plymbridge a school slightly modified from the base Metcalfe kit, mine has pedestrian gates, Plymouth area primary school welcome signs and decoration on the walls.

Nice additional touches to another new-ish Metcalfe kit.

Great that you've been able to include some of the recently released kits into the layout build.

The inn and the school look really good. I've avoided Metcalfe so far as I am not a huge fan of card kits, but I may have to revise my opinion.

The garage could probably be improved with a 'new' roof - rusty corrugated iron, say, but I agree it looks crude by today's standards.

Cheers,

Chris

Do try one, they are excellent kits and with a bit of 'bashing' .............like your suggestion for the rusty roof.

Nice school Di. Wish I had gone to somewhere as posh as that!

Agree with your comments that the garage is over-priced at the RRP. Well put together though, sounds like in spite of the (lack of) instructions.

Playtime at Plymbridge Primary, I don't envy the 2 poor teachers on playground duty.

For those interested I have used 1/300 figures bought very cheaply on e-bay from China for the children.

Hello Di,

A cunning plan. Were they already painted? I would like to have quite a few people for a market and a music festival in the future but couldn't paint them myself and the cost scares me.

If they were painted, that could get the kids out of the way  :). Do you have a link?

Looks great.

Cheers weave  :beers:

Improved round n-gauge road signs cut using a 3mm leather hole punch. I still have to master centring the punch over the printed sign.
