Unit kit bashing questions
« on: July 03, 2017, 01:13:23 am »
Hi all,  a couple of questions hopefully someone can help me out with.

Toying with the idea of scratchbuiding some units, namely mk1 and mk2 EMU's.  Its been a while since I last dabbled in N, so could someone tell me if the new farish Mk1's are printed sides like the old ones, or are the similar to their OO versions with separate windows?  If the latter, had anyone attempted a cut and shut?  I've done this in OO for several 307's and 309 so i'm familiar with the process.

Paul

Hi Paul,
Everything tooled after 2012 (ish) should have separate glazing.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there anywhere you can buy bogies and wheels, namely for Mk1 and Mk2 stock?

Hi

BR Lines may have some
http://brlines.co.uk/

If not depending on how many you require I may be able to provide some Mk1 bogies (without wheels)

Cheers

Paul

Cheers.  Not sure how many yet, just debating whether to print out full body shells for my units, paint and buy the bogies wheels etc or whether to go down the vinyl route for my mk1 units, the original clear mk1's seem to be a bit thin on the ground though.

I might be selling some complete printed Mk1's in the near future, but not before the Dapol Maunsell BCK arrives.
