Don't get much time to play during the week -up at 5.30am -days slog and then home life -Just eats up the time sadly -roll on retirement -apparently I won't have any time then either ?? Already hip deep in the grandad  bit at weekends with one at 10 -one at 'nearly 7 grandad' and the last 4 (annoyed now because she realised that she can't catch her sister up -ever !!!!!) Any I detract -had a little time last night because it was ohhhhh so nice till 8.30pm -had a play with the woodland scenics underlay ( track bed in USA termanology) on one of the fiddle yard boards (3 in total) peco code 55 is my choice and for space saving peco three way points at each end -giving me four sidings with a central run through or a quick siding shud something not go to plan when up an running . 1m ruler and a selection of coloured pencils helps in the planning -scheme of things . The woodlands glue seems to get a real good hold on the foam -but the push pins are there just in case . Good and tacky after a couple of mins (working time given as 15mins ). Have marked out for my droppers etc so next time gap - out with the drill - soon be track laying testing time !

Regards

Neil

Yet again -too busy with work /grandkids/ keeping the Mrs happy to do that much - but the nights are drawing in -so I might get a bit of time to play ?? Been playing with two things -first up was Osborns switch stands -nice laser cut kit -easy to assemble with wood glue and finish with a bit of paint -hey ho you decide -----

Next up the flood loader - got used to walthers kits now after the mine building- find the problem bits -work out how to solve it -but first up I think this kit is a scaled down version of the HO variant -the base section had two troughs moulded in to it for the rails to lay in (you remove 13 sleepers on peco track ) - then glue them in the troughs -easy -he'll no - not even close to 9mm -ended up removing the inner two sanding it all flat -

Think some super glue will sort that -just try and equal the gaps ! Next up was the roof section and loading hut -the supplied railings scaled out around 4" thick -so I've filled the holes with vallejo putty -sanded off and ordered some etched brass ones off scalelink !

The last bit -i've decided to add a loader chute inside -just because I think it would look good -watched some vids of loaders on you tube -looked at my coal railroading book again  - then cut a circle of 40 tho styrene and glued it to number 2 ring section -bought some rectangular section evergreen styrene from Preston on Saturday-plus some coppertube ,aluminium rod off the net -see if we can make something presentable ? Away on hols next week -so will be a couple of weeks before I'm posting again with the results !

Regards

Neil
