Dapol Megafret wagons
« on: February 27, 2017, 08:47:31 pm »
Hi guys,
Been trying to build up a rake of the Megafret wagons over the past couple of years.
They all seem to have the same container numbers. Numbers 11 and 31, or the weathered ones 43 and 56.
There like hens teeth finding them cheap at the shows now.
Was this Dapols intention to have all the same numbers in the twin pack and wanting you to purchase individual containers sold separately, if you can get them, to create a rake with different numbers.

I'd be interested in a swap, I've got duplicates of other numbers: 06, 17 and 21 off the top of my head. C-Rail do a sheet of decals to change the numbers too.

Hi njee20,

I would have a spare 43 and 56  Less CO2 from the weathered twin pack

And a spare 11 and 31 Less CO2 from the pristine twin pack.

All mint condition.

Are the containers weathered? None of mine are from westhered packs, but I thought the containers were the same regardless, with only the flats weathered. I can have a look and let you know what I've got.

Yes your correct, only the flats weathered all containers look pristine.

When you get time (no rush) you can post what you've got.

Cheers

I have duplicate numbers  22, 43, 56, 77 if anybody is interested in doing a swap, PM me with the numbers you are prepared to swap. Dapol are now producing the containers in the UK so there should be some at Ally Pally.

I would be prepared to swap my four for one of each of yours. 06-10-17-21. Are you local to Bristol or would you be going to Ally Pally on the Saturday, this would save the postage?

Hi njee20,

Sorry about delay in getting back, just finished work.

I would swap my 11, 31, 43, 56 for your 06, 10, 17, 21 but I think Geoffc has beat me to it.
Let me know what's spare after you and geoffc sort out your swap and we can sort out the balance.
Thanks
Ron

Okay guys,

The great Megafret swap shop is now over, although I still have a spare 43 and 56 looking to swap. Anybody ?

Still would be interested if anyone can confirm the first post in topic, just curious.

There was a few for sale at model rail, but again all the same container numbers.

Ron

All of my Megafrets were bought without containers, so you always had that option to get your own containers. Not that it worked as I ended up with six 06s (now 4) :)

Hi FWIW the C rail  transfers do not quite match the Dapol size so best to renumber completely.

you do need lots of decal sol to soften to sit down on ribs, but easy todo.
